September is about an important transition in women’s lives. Menopause and the nuisances, such as hot flashes that some women experience in those years, have not, as far as I know, been portrayed in art very often. But I think it’s important also to include that part in my portraits of the adult mature woman!! The wave of hot lava that suddenly and without warning seizes one’s full attention and makes you bloom in red.
